This is a walking-order map of Ngurah Rai (DPS) international arrivals, not an architect's floor plan. The order is what matters: do each step's prep before you reach it and you'll fly through.

Step by step

1. Gate

You'll walk off the air bridge or take a bus to the terminal. Follow the "Arrival" and "Immigration" signs. Have your passport, e-VOA approval and All Indonesia QR code open on your phone before you start walking. Screenshots work if the airport Wi-Fi is slow.

2. Visa: counter or autogate

Visa guide: e-VOA vs visa on arrival, fees and the official site

  • Already have an e-VOA? With an e-passport (every current Aussie passport is one), you can use the autogates: put your passport on the scanner, look at the camera, walk through. (Pickyourtrail, checked 2026-10-25)
  • No e-VOA? Pay Rp 500,000 at the visa on arrival counter, then join the manual immigration queue. Guides put that queue at 30–90 minutes in busy periods. (Pickyourtrail, checked 2026-10-25)

3–4. Immigration, then baggage

After immigration, find your flight on the screens and head to that belt. Trolleys are by the belts.

5. Arrival duty free

Bali has an arrivals duty-free shop inside the restricted area, between immigration and customs, so you shop before you exit. Reports differ on whether it comes before or after the baggage belts. unverified It's where Aussies grab their grog allowance. Duty free guide: limits and what's worth it

6. Customs

Customs reads your All Indonesia arrival card QR code, the free online form that replaced the paper customs and health declarations. (Bali Holiday Secrets, checked 2026-10-25) Fill it in during the few days before you fly. Guides disagree on the exact window, so do it within 3 days of landing.

7. Arrivals hall

  • ATMs and money changers are right after customs. Use a bank ATM with a no-fee card; airport changer rates vary. ATM guide
  • SIM booths (Telkomsel, XL) are here. If your eSIM is already on, walk past.
  • Taxi desk: prepaid official taxis are sold at a counter. Guides disagree on whether it's inside or just outside the hall. unverified
  • Drivers with name boards wait at the exit, if you pre-booked a transfer.

8. Outside: Grab and Gojek

App rides pick up from a set zone a short walk from the terminal doors, not at the kerb. Follow the ride-hailing signs. unverified

Skip the queues: airport fast track and transfers

A fast-track greeter walks you through the visa and immigration lines, and a pre-booked driver waits at the exit. Book through a platform with a receipt, not a stranger at the gate.
